Desaware Corporate Background

The Past

Desaware was founded in 1991 by Dan Appleman to develop components for the Visual Basic market. Over the years Desaware has grown to be one of the leading vendors of advanced components. From the first VBX components written in C++, to COM/OCX components, and now to .NET. Desaware has always been on the leading edge of component development.

The Present

Desaware has always focused on the needs of developers. Over the past few years, we'd heard increasing numbers of requests for source code, in many cases from customers and potential customers not wanting to be dependent on any component vendor (even one with our long term track record of stability and support). So we responded by offering, for the first time, full source code for our component product line.

Desaware continues to support our OCX and VBX customers, while at the same time moving aggressively into the .NET market with a variety of innovative components and products.
